Budori Gusuko lives peacefully with his parents and younger sister in the Ihatobu forest. Due to extreme cold weather, the forest is raided and Budori Gusuko loses his parents and younger sister. Budori Gusuko has no one now.
He tries to go on and eventually begins to work with scientists at an aritficial volcano eruption laboratory. Cold weather again approaches and this time Budori Gusuko decides to not go through the same experience. He leaves the volcanic eruption department to save the others ...
《古斯柯布多力传记》改编自日本著名儿童文学作家宫泽贤治的童话作品，由执导过《翡翠森林 狼与羊》、《棒球英豪》的动画大师杉井仪三郎亲自掌镜。制作班底和1985年的电视动画系列《银河铁道之夜》完全相同。
该片的舞台“伊哈托布”是宫泽贤治以日本东北岩手地区为原型创作出的幻想世界。主人公古斯柯布多力（小栗旬饰）是樵夫家的孩子，他和父母、妹妹一同在森林里过着平静的生活。但是，由于袭击森林的寒流，古斯柯布多力失去家人，变成了孤身一人。为了不让灾害再度降临森林，决定独自生活下去的古斯柯布多力打算以人工方式让火山喷发。 |
