During a battle with several Marine warships, the Straw Hats are forced to make an emergency Coup de Burst in order to escape a sudden attack from above, in the form of an immensely large cannonball. Crash landing on a nearby island, they decide to explore while Franky repairs and moves the ship. Finding a town, they learn of its past and people while Luffy befriends a nearby wax sculptor.
After being told that his apprentice had joined the Marines and subsequently been imprisoned due to knowing how to create incredibly solid wax, Luffy meets with the others and go out to find the apprentice. Leaving Sanji and Usopp to deal with the Marine troops, he eventually finds Regis trapped in a cage. Accidentally activating a complicated water trap, they are only saved by the timely intervention of Sanji. Escaping to a nearby reef, they decide to destroy Bilić's weapons once and for all.
近日富士电视台宣布：海贼王TV版路飞特别篇《手之岛的冒险》将在12月15日（周六）播出。 本篇特别篇的剧情将与在12月2日开播的电视版跟剧场版Z紧密联系4连弹特别篇完全不同。（剧场版也将于12月15日首播~）与剧场版一样特别篇也将由尾田荣一郎监督，同时将由森田宏幸和本乡充共同导演。工藤静香也将为本片做人物设计和主题曲。 手之岛的冒险发生在剧场版Z的剧情之前，主要讲述了在新世界剧情之中的手之岛事件。故事发生在一个叫做“大炮之城”的城市，一对夫妇和他们的孩子做着工匠的工作。事件就是围绕着他们和一个海军基地的上尉展开的
